A win for the England Lions and A-Star Sports
The Dodgeball Six Nations 2013 tournament took place at The Cheshire County Sports Club last Sunday (13th March) and members of the A-Star Sports team went to support the competing teams and experience dodgeball at an international level.
The England Lions battled to win the day with fantastic performances from the Scottish Highlanders (runners up), Wales Dragons, Northern Ireland Knights, Ireland Celts and France. In fact, it was a double win for England with the England Lions women’s team also picking up the winner’s trophy.
But the best news of the day came after the great win with ‘England Lion’ Alex Harrison signing up to be an ambassador for A-Star Sports. Alongside TeamGB hockey bronze medal winner Helen Richardson, Alex will work with the A-Star Sports team to inspire young children to enjoy sport for life. Watch this space for lots more news about Alex!
A-Star Sports became an affiliate of the UKDBA in November 2012 and is committed to increasing participation in Dodgeball as one of ten core sports. The A-Star Sports programme has been reviewed by the UKDBA (A-Star Sports’ dodgeball advisors) and will continue to be updated in line with the development of the game.
More information on future dodgeball tournaments can be found via the UKDBA website as well as the official England Lions website.
