Olympic hockey star Helen Richardson ‘had the best day’ with A-Star Sports

Helen Richardson, Team GB hockey Olympic bronze medallist, made her first appearance as A-Star Sports’ ambassador at Cheshire County Sports Club in Chester on 26th October.  Helen joined in games and activities with over 40 children aged 3-10 years, including some of our all time favourites such as timer tag, swamp attack and the rainbow game as well as many of our core sports.  Not only was Helen’s bronze medal a huge hit but she was even treated to some great passes in a game of hockey!

Helen also inspired existing franchise owners and coaches with her natural ability to encourage and support young children and her appreciation of our fun and engaging programme.  She tweeted: “Had the best day with @AStarSports_UK  Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed sport so much!  #enjoysportforlife”

Safe to say, we’re a very proud team and extremely privileged to have Helen on board.  Helen has made such a positive impression that she now also features on the A-Star Sports gallery wall:

Fun, engagement, inclusivity, positive role models and a variety of opportunities to discover new sports and games – this is definitely the way to go about enjoying sport for life.
