Judges choose A-Star Sports as a national winner of the Guardian Small Business Network’s Best Practice Exchange

The A-Star Sports start-up story has won the Guardian Small Business Network’s Best Practice Exchange – Starting Up category, in association with Lloyds TSB.

Initially, the team had to submit a 250 word piece on the A-Star Sports start-up venture, meeting the Best Practice Exchange’s criteria.  Following this, three national winners were chosen by the judges.  As a winner, A-Star Sports has been featured on the Guardian website – ‘We decided to join forces so we could set up a national franchise network’ – and in the newspaper itself (p. 24 – 16/01/13 ‘How to make a success of a startup’).

On informing the team of their win, the Guardian wrote: ‘Congratulations on winning our Best Practice Exchange category Starting Up. Thanks to entries such as yours, we now have a wealth of useful, informative examples of best practice in starting up a business which will bring insight and inspiration to our readers, along with showcasing the innovation of the UK’s small and medium enterprise community.’
